    The 30 share benchmark index Dow Jones industrial average (DJIA) added 76.55 points and opened at 10,702.38. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (SPX) gained 0.74 percent to open at 1,145.31. The broader index Nasdaq Composite Index (IXIC) was also in green at opening today by 20.12 points to 2,374.35.It might be noted that the gains are also possibly due to strong earnings shown by WalMart as well as Home Depot.
