: Dream Chaser On Wheels Neverending Main What Doesn't Kill You . October 14, 2009 Transition Over the last week , I've been gradually easing into my off-season training . My annual training break consisted mainly of running , running , and more running . It was a lot of fun to play treadmill hamster for a couple of weeks but the time has come for some serious . work I met with coach SZ for a good discussion on reviewing 2009, goals for 2010, and how to get there in between . New for this off-season : weights I had my first session last weekend and it was . interesting . Body obviously needs time to adjust and I was hurting all over for a couple of days . I suppose it didn't help that I went to Hamilton Beaches Trail the very next day and skated low slow in windy condition . I'm curious to see how weights will contribute to my off-season . training Other usual suspects include plyos , bike , hiking , running , and indoor inline . 0160 It's been over nine months since I last did the general preparation phase plyos exercises . Aside from some endurance issues I seriously ran out of gas toward the end I surprised myself with my improvements . Jumping , in particular , was encouraging

: Dream Chaser On Wheels NYC 100K Album Main Transition October 09, 2009 Neverending I've been writing my end of season summary , on and off , since my last post . In the last 24 hours however , my schedule has been turned upside-down and it appears I have more races waiting for . me Sure , going to Montreal the weekend of Défi de L'Île de Montréal has always been in my plan . to cheer on my friends . And eat delicious food And shop for more delicious food And eat some more delicious food Interestingly enough , a recent change of plan will land me at the start line at 6am on a Saturday morning . What can one possibly do in Verdun at that hour without a car though After some serious considerations , the only logical thing is to enter the race . Fellow TISC skater AQ will be racing Defi for his fifth consecutive year . It will be a good pace so I just may end up doing a long morning fun skate . Obviously , if it rains , I'll make a beeline to St Viateur for morning breakfast instead Another race event on my horizon is a bit further from home . Some convoluted logic involving frequent flyer miles , premier status , and postponing my India work assignment basically has given me an

: Dream Chaser On Wheels Post-NYC Meli Melo Main Neverending October 04, 2009 NYC 100K Album I finally got my act together and gathered a few race pictures from friends who cheered us on and took wonderful photos of us last weekend . Enjoy Team K2 Asphalt Beach before the race . A good race for everyone this year . photo by John Charbonneau Deep in discussion with NCJ on race strategy . photo by Nadine Currie Jackson A series of photos taken during the first half of the race when my pack crossed the feeding zone . photo by Nathalie Larouche Totally profile-worthy Thanks NL for an awesome photo . How do you know when your hair is too long When I reached for the back pockets of my skinsuit for bottle and food , my hand inevitably got tangled in my hair , that's how . photo by Nathalie Larouche Obviously , for every cool race photo , there is an equally goofy one to remind me what a dork I can be . This one was taken late in the race lap 16 or 17 when I somehow bridged up to the chase pack . As I crossed the feeding zone , I frantically called out to Mrs JC to switch bottle with me . I couldn't ask for a better person to feed me during the race . Every exchange went without a hitch

: Dream Chaser On Wheels Redemption Main NYC 100K Album October 01, 2009 Post-NYC Meli Melo My 2009 race season officially wrapped up last Saturday at Prospect Park . I want to take my time to write a summary so that will come in a few days . Right now , 0160 I am just enjoying some hard-earned R R and a more relaxed approach to diet and weight management . I haven't taken a break from training since this time last year so I'm definitely in the mood for holiday , both mentally and . physically Evidence that I enjoyed my kir so very very much . photo by Peter Doucet As soon as I crossed the finish line on Saturday , I ate every piece of food I had with me . Granted , they were merely leftover CLIF Shot Bloks and an extra CLIF Bar I carried so obviously it was not enough . I didn't even bother to shower before dragging B to Junior's for a slice of New York style cheesecake . Did I mention that I've been dreaming about a bite of that cheesecake since last year From that point on , the eating didn't stop until I returned home Monday night . 0160 In less than 60 hours , I indulged myself with kir , duck confit burger , fries , Mint Oreo Express from Serendipity 3, sage scone , country
