  • Dream Chaser On Television!

    Updated: 2009-08-19 04:42:58
: Dream Chaser On Wheels Work Ahead Of Me Main August 19, 2009 Dream Chaser On Television I was contacted by Global Television's health reporter Ms Beatrice Politi today for an interview on the Family Health segment . When I told my friends with much excitement about this news , I said I only wish for two things . First , the interview would actually happen with no conflict of schedule . Second , no crashes The piece focuses on exercise addiction and I provided a different angle on training hard but not overdoing it . The interview and filming experience was fun and interesting . We met at the foyer of my office and drove to a nearby park . There was a nice quiet driveway leading to a parking lot so it worked out perfectly for some straightaway footage . Although it drizzled right before we started , the sun came out just in time and the pavement was dry phew We shot a bunch of different footage including me putting on my gears and skated down the driveway a few times . I picked up lots of speed easily with a nice tailwind and ever-so-slight downhill . Of course , Murphy's Law ruled the day and I crashed while braking . Good thing I didn't rip my Team WOW skinsuit The cameraman

    Updated: 2009-08-11 19:12:22
: . Dream Chaser On Wheels Stop And Go Main Work Ahead Of Me August 11, 2009 This Weather Calls For . We've been blessed with a streak of crappy weather recently . In the last few days , we've seen drizzle , torrential rain , thunder , lightening , howling wind , suffocating humidity , peek of sunlight , and everything else in between . Did I also mention it's HOT It appears summer arrives at last after months of . delay After that bout of fever last week , I finally regain all my strength and normal training resumes . Unfortunately , I don't have a good gauge of my speed anymore because body is not taking well to the changing climate . Friends who are more accustomed to hotter climate tell me that it takes some acclimatization . Take my Sunday training session for example . It was really my first time skating out in such hot and humid weather this year . It was a hard effort of many long intervals . Towards the end of my session , I was lightheaded and skin felt tingly all over . Upon closer examination , I could have done better in terms of preparation . I did not carry anything for hydration . I relied on going back to the car every 30 minutes for a sip of water . That's a

: Dream Chaser On Wheels Time To Shop Main This Weather Calls For . August 06, 2009 Stop And Go After another extended period of forced rest , I finally resumed training yesterday . I was still weak from that bout of fever so I only wanted an easy roll on the trail to get my legs moving again . Much to my dismay , it ranked right up there as My Worst Skate Ever . I did a little sprint to chase ML and that short effort made me want to hurl . Definitely a session I would like to . forget Recent correspondence with a friend have me reminiscing about my Paris Night Skate experience back in October 2005, before I started speed skating . I remember grumbling to myself how much precious real estate my bulky rec skates took up in my luggage c'mon , I was vacationing in Paris . Of course I needed room for my purchases Today , I cannot imagine traveling without my skates . I smile as I revisit my own words . That feeling of entrancement is still fresh in mind after all these years . Enjoy You know how at the end of a long day of activities , it’s hard to bring yourself out of the comfort of your couch and head out the door again Well , this was exactly how I felt before getting out for the
