• Summer Training Camp – Level II (ages 8-12), Full Day August 16th-20th.

    PLEASE NOTE: Some off site activities for this camp require signed waiver forms for Non-MSFC contractors. These forms are attached at the end of camp registration documents.  This camp will be divided into two components.  Drop off and morning activities will be at the Broad Street location and will include fencing instruction and team building activities for the basic "Level II" fencer.  Minimum requirements are completion of a basic fencing class or camp.  Afternoon transportation will take campers to Frog Hollow, where young fencers can work on cooperation and team building skills with other MSFC fencers. Most days of this camp we will meet at a location on the Eno River (locations will alternate between West Point on the Eno and Penny's Bend Nature Preserve, both of which are close to one another). Pick-up will be at this location at 5pm!! Afternoon activities will include the following:- Low Ropes and Team Building Activities    - Hiking- Canoeing and Kayaking- Map & Compass Skills- GPS Geocaching Treasure Hunts- A Stewardship Project involving the Eno River- Knot Tying- and more

    Saturday February 27  12:00 Noon-4:00pm Los Alamos YMCA Gym Entry Fee: $10 Sponsored by LAFC and LA YMCA This will be a tournament for Beginning/Novice fencers who have neverhad the opportunity to fence in a tournament environment. LAFC will provideelectric epee equipment for those who have none. This is a non-USFA event.There will be a round of 5-touch pools with everyone taken into theDirect Elimination tableau of 10-touch bouts.Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers.There will be a Cadet event (Under 18 yrs of age) and an Adult event (greaterthan 18 yrs of age) if there is enough interest. ****NMFF will provide all necessary equipment for this event.   • Introduction to Tournaments Camp, March 20th

    The Introduction to Saber Tournament camp is geared towards providing fencers with the knowledge and experience to participate in local competitions. The morning seminar will include instruction on : tournament preparation, warming up, equipment basics, technical and tactical fencing instruction. The afternoon session will consist of a practice tournament (Format will be determined by the number and age of the participants). Cost: $60. Preregistration is up on AskFRED.net

  • Clean Shoes

    Youth fencers are required to leave athletic shoes at the club for fencing. Dirty shoes will not be tolerated by youth or adult. Any Shoes left at the club since last season will be discarded after March 1st. If you have shoes that are not clearly marked with a last name, then they will be given away or thrown out. You must have a name on the shoe tounge or inner liner.   Youth and Adults are expected to have either purchases or rented Jacket, Glove and Mask as of today. Please email me if you need help.
